Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Foods & DrugsGas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 2.08% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 2.00%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 8.32% or 5.42 points to trade at 70.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (PA:STLA) added 5.80% or 0.79 points to end at 14.47 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) was up 5.42% or 6.45 points to 125.55 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP), which fell 0.82% or 1.30 points to trade at 157.10 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) declined 0.59% or 1.00 points to end at 167.65 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was down 0.13% or 0.06 points to 40.92.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which rose 8.32% to 70.58, Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which was up 7.60% to settle at 21.80 and Stellantis NV (PA:STLA) which gained 5.80% to close at 14.47.

The worst performers were Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) which was down 5.21% to 66.35 in late trade, Euronext (PA:ENX) which lost 3.13% to settle at 80.40 and Devoteam SA (PA:DVTM) which was down 2.69% to 101.20 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 408 to 188 and 84 ended unchanged.

Shares in Stellantis NV (PA:STLA) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.80% or 0.79 to 14.47. Shares in Safran SA (PA:SAF) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.42% or 6.45 to 125.55. Shares in Stellantis NV (PA:STLA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.80% or 0.79 to 14.47.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.26% or 21.45 to $1677.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.25% or 1.49 to hit $64.60 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.19% or 1.52 to trade at $67.84 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1853, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8569.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 92.360.France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 2.08%
